Healing Lesson: Don't get ahead of the tanks

It's important to let the tanks do their job. One thing that makes it hard for them is when you get in front of them....

While it's common sense to most, it's not that clear that everyone does what's the obviously correct thing to do.

  • Let the tanks make the pull.
  • Let the tanks take the hits.
  • Keep the tanks alive.

Their job is to make the pulls and take the hits. It's why they get paid the big bucks.

Letting them make the pulls sometimes takes some raid awareness, since not all pulls come from the front.

Patrols occasionally come from behind or from the sides and stepping a little too far one way or another will ensure you pull the mob instead of letting the tank pull it at their own pace.

The easy rule of thumb, stand behind the tank, not too far away. Pay attention to the other mobs floating around and make sure that the tank is the closest person to them, or at a bare minimum, aware of them.

Most of all, if someone does pull (since after this, you're not going to pull, even accidently) make sure it's announced so the tank is able to taunt these extra unwelcome guests.
