This the Holy Paladin's Guide to Gems. What Gems are best for you. Holy Pally's gem a little different to normal characters due to our reliance on certain stats. The trick is to know what are the best Gems to get the most out of your Healadin gear.
The problem with a gemming guide for Holy Paladins is it depends on the quality of your gear.
Best Gems for when your gear is good enough for Naxx25 or higher:
Metagem Slot: [Insightful Earthsiege Diamond]
For Every slot unless the socket bonus is +int or +crit: [Brilliant Autumn's Glow]
If the socked bonus is +int or +crit use these gems in the following color slows:
Red Slot: [Luminous Monarch Topaz]
Yellow Slot: [Brilliant Autumn's Glow]
Blue Slot: [Dazzling Forest Emerald]
The reason for this is once you hit Naxx25 and beyond, the main healing spell that you will use it Holy Light. To do this, you need to stack on a lot of Intellect and use Divine Plea constantly.
Best Gems when your gear is good enough for Heroics or lower:
Metagem Slot: [Insightful Earthsiege Diamond]
Red Slot: [Runed Scarlet Ruby]
Yellow Slot: [Brilliant Autumn's Glow]
Blue Slot: [Royal Twilight Opal]
If you do not care about the item socket bonus, use [Smooth Autumn's Glow]
Gems are best used to push further forward the effectiveness in your character. When your gear isn't great it's best to push your spell power a little higher even with the risk of running out of mana earlier. The reason for this is under geared characters are usually unable to cast Holy Light for long peroids of time, so it's often better to cast Flash of Light, Holy Shock and Beacon of Light and throw in the occasional Holy Light to keep everyone up.

When this proc’s, it gives you 600 mana. From reading, this gives approximately 75mp5 taking into consideration of a 15 second internal cool down. This equates to a free Holy Light about every 1.3 Minutes.
This is the best metagem for a Holy Paladin cause it lets you cast healing spell harder with less fear of running out of Mana, even more so if your gear is on the low end for the content that you are doing.

This metagem is the best when you want to increase how hard heals hit for. The intellect boost given by this metagem is similar to the bonus given by +21 Intellect, so go by that as a frame of reference.

This is good when you are learning a boss where you need to run faster. Its not really that useful for Raids or other PVE. Where this gem shines is in PVP where movement speed can be important, however it's usually skipped for a gem that reduces your stuns or silence.
Primarily used for PVP, particularly when silence is more of a problem than stun.
[Trenchant Earthsiege Diamond]
An excellent gem for PVP. It reduces your stun times by 10%. If you're playing against a lot of Melee, this is the Metagem to get.
Good for Ret Paladins. Since Holy Paladins don’t have threat issues, this is a Metagem for us to avoid. Outside the +25 Spell Power, it provides us with no benefits.
Crit Rating Gems are very good since they provide us with a combination of extra Heals Per Second and Mana returns.
