Questions & Feedback #33:
The feedback and questions have been coming hard and fast lately. I love it. Keep it all coming. Every Friday we're going to post Questions and Feedback!
Feedback: About the pvp thing. You have a guild, you can ask around and figure it out, and help ppl like me who really dont have a clue :D
Response: I’ve said it before, it’s like asking a blind person to be your guide. It’s just not smart. None of our guild Holy Paladins PVP and I have very little interest in it, sorry.
Feedback: im just a newbie lvling healer pally that want some tips :P
Response: Feel free to look around the site and read. That’ll lead to learning. Enjoy your healing!
Feedback: A thought, if you're really dedicated and want it and cannot afford the steep price tag. Farm the trash (solo if you can). If it doesn't drop, run out, reset the instance and start again until it does drop for you
its an hc :P
RE: http://www.theholypaladin.com/healing-in-3.3-battered-hilt.php
Feedback: Great Article! I've actually been browsing this whole site, and I really like all the advice you've given. The layout of the site is great too!
Specific to this article, I'm a holy pally who is afraid to heal in groups, even PuGs! I used to be flawless at it, and people friended me and asked me to tag along to heal, so being afraid now is a difference, but I guess like learning to ride a bike, I'll have to jump right back on!
Response: Just remember, there are two main classes that are really needed in pugs. Tanks and healers. The DPS are a dime a dozen. Preparation and practice will be two of the best things that will help cure you of this ailment. I suggest that you ease into it slowly. Do some easy things like battlegrounds where there is little to no expectations of performance. Above all, have fun!
Feedback: That you are doing us holy pallys a great service is an amazing thing and pat yourself on the back, I am doing it for you. I have learned more in this article than i have learned in a week, thanks a million
Feedback: I have been playing a Healadin since just before BC came out. Sayberry has never been anything other than a Holy Palli (until this last month when I duel-specced into Ret to add DPS so I could help my Guildmates). The guidance in this article is right on. I respecced my Holy to grab the Conviction and now I regularly see FoL's that easilly equal what I used to throw as HL's when I was mid 70's.
I would be very interested in seeing more discussion and articles on this style.
RE: http://theholypaladin.com/healing-in-3.3-flash-of-light.php
Response: We’ve gone through it a fair bit a few months ago. Just look back at the older articles and you’ll find stuff.
Feedback: i have benQ 24 inch. its my first 24" monitor and i like it. dont know if its "cheap". it was 250â‚ when i bought it.
would love some feedback from dual monitor + wow. since im going to get another soon.
Response: This one was a little over $200 where my first 24 inch was $599. A long time ago I had 2 x 19 inch monitors using dual screen setup. It was great at the time since I would like to surf the web for strats or do other things (see who is talking on vent etc). In todays day of Dual and Quad core CPU’s it’d be even better since it wouldn’t hurt the performance of wow.
Feedback: Icewalker is lackluster at best for Holy Paladins. Tuskarr's Vitality or the stamina enchant are widely accepted as standard. The Int enchant for bracers is better for most Holy Paladins (those that use Holy Light), with the same being true of the SP/MP5 shoulder enchant.
Response: Been there, done this conversation many times before but thanks for the feedback.
Feedback: I love this site, it has given me all the information on how to heal as a Holy Paladin I could ever want.
One thing that is missing is an updated gearing for Heroics section for the Holy Light Style and for 3.3. I'm currently level 78 and would appreciate a section like that to help not only myself but other Holy Paladins who aren't rading yet.
Response: Most people are looking towards Cataclysm. The heroic gear guide is still available and for the most part still relevant to those who are just hitting 80. I won’t be updating that guide before Cataclysm, sorry.
Feedback: I don't think a lot of time you can state this.
If youre not geared out in 264+ ilevel items, and pushing a small 5k gear score, theres no way to compete against a super geared druid or shaman.
If 264 = 264 geared, palladin should over heal the way to top of chart.
RE: http://www.theholypaladin.com/healing-in-3.3-healing-meters.php
Response: It seems to be evening out lately. I wrote this with the premise that you’re the only holy paladin in the raid since that was happening most of the time for me ;) I suppose I got spoiled.
Feedback: not sure how old this is but "leatrix latency fix" is a simple registry edit that cut my ping from ~350 to <200ms, thought Id throw that out there
Feedback: Yea, im trying to actually figure out how often to spam holy light.
I usually use it 1x ever 10 secs to get the relic to proc, but other than that I love the flash\shock combos to get the holy to cast faster....
Response: It’s all about mana balance. The better you are with your gear and your mana management the more you’re going to be able to spam. If I’m on top of my game, I’m going to be able to spam Holy Light about 80-90% of the time, sometimes more depending on the encounter. My gear is fairly decent, but hardly the best available.
Feedback: Could you please make the picture larger when clicking it or add a link to one of the many talent tree sites.
Response: Good idea.
Feedback: ive dont lots of reasearch of holy pallys and with my buffs my HL cast time is 1.39 775ish haste. But I seem to only do about 3k hps. But in the dreamwalker fight with out collection orbs i do about 12k with wings. I dont understand.
Response: Do you take into account the overhealing or only actual healing? A lot of your heals is going to be overhealing. There's probably just more damage around turning your overheals into actual heals.
Feedback: Registered for the website today and clicked the registration link, and was directed to a page saying the registration had failed, but all three tests came back saying the registration had already succeeded. After attempting to log in a number of times, and even trying to activate again, I was unable to log into the website. Was hoping there was something you would be able to do about this.
Response: Does your web browser have cookies allowed?
For this site to work, cookies need to be allowed otherwise you won't be able to login.
Please check that out and let me know if you continue to have problems.
Feedback: I have been looking around www.theholypaladin.com and actually am impressed by the exceptional content here. I work the nightshift at my job and it is boring. I've been coming right here for the previous couple nights and reading. I just needed to let you know that I've been enjoying what I have seen and I look ahead to reading more.
Feedback: could i get some feedback from other pally healers about the benefits of going with intel over spell power? i've just made the switch over to intel in my gem slots but the holy light spells take so long i can't cleanse like i normally do. before i was heavy on spell power and did flash of light most of the time which worked great and never ate mana. now i'm going through mana and actually have to worry about it. i'm thinking about going back to what i had before.
Response: It’s been covered many times ago. Look up the Flash of Light healing style for more info.
Feedback: I've looked over the website and was not able to find talent trees and their suggestions. I stumbled across a 51/5/15 build that appeared to be popular.
Do you have talent tree recommendations? I've looked over the website and was not able to find talent trees and their suggestions. I stumbled across a 51/5/15 build that appeared to be popular.
Do you have talent tree recommendations?
Response: Holy/Prot.
Epilogue:
Keep the feedback and questions coming. Believe it or not, it makes me go out and research some things. Sometimes the results surprise me and we'll all learn something new together!
Be sure to send them in, if you're asking the question, others are going to be asking too.
