Mattel's Uno is an awesome fun card game for up to 7 players for 7 years and older. It'll keep the kids amused for hours and hours. While you can have Uno as a 2 player game, it is best with 3 or more players.
The basic rules for playing Uno are as follows:
The deck consists of four suits, red, green, blue and yellow. Each suit contains cards 0 to 9. Each suit also has Skip, Reverse and Draw Two Cards.
There are also Wild Cards, the regular Wild Card and the Wild Draw Four.
Each player begins with zero points. Each player is dealt seven cards and the rest are placed face down, which becomes your draw stack. The top card is then flipped and becomes the discard stack.
To win, you must discard all your cards before the other players can. To discard a card, it must match the top card of the discard stack by either number or word (Skip, Draw Two, Reverse) or be of the same color. A wild card can be played regardless of what's on top and changes to the color of your choice. A Wild Draw Four card can only be played if you have no cards matching the color of the top card on the discard stack. If you are unable to play a card, you must take a new card from the stack.
When you play a Skip card, the next player loses their turn. When you play a Reverse card, the player direction is reversed. When you play a Draw Two card, the next player must draw two cards from the draw stack. When you pla a Wild Draw Four card, the next player has to draw four cards from the draw stack and loses their turn.
If you have only one card left, you must call out Uno. This lets other players know you're about to win. If you don't call it out and you get caught by another player, you must draw two cards from the draw stack.
If you choose to keep score, when you win, you count up the point values of all the remaining cards in the other players hands. Add that to your score. First to get 500 points, wins the entire game.
While Uno is a game aimed at children, many adults also love this game. I'd suggest getting this game if you have young children or you want a fun game quick game once in a while. Best of all, it's cheap, easy to learn and fast. It's also educational for children.
