Article Series: Gold Glorious Gold - How to make gold with Jewelcrafting and Blacksmithing.
This is the first part of a 4 part series where we are going to teach you how to make gold with Jewelcrafting and Blacksmithing. Why these two professions? These are the two best professions for your Holy Paladin. We're going to start with how to do it if you're short on time and can only spend 5 to 10 minutes a day making gold.
First we're going to concentrate on Jewelcrafting. As a Holy Paladin, this is where you're going to make most of your gold.
Who am I to be teaching all this?
I'm just a nobody. If you don't want to listen to these words, that is fine by me. I have nothing to gain by teaching you this.
I've bought anything that I can want in the game. All the pets and mounts that I care to have for me and my partner. Even after all that, I'm still sitting on over 500k gold and this is what I did to make all this gold (Method 3).
First and foremost: Not everything here will work on each and every server. There are many factors that determine whether you will make gold or not. Factors like cost of mats, sell price and competition.
The trick is to buy low, and sell high but it's not always as simple as that.
There is risk involved with some of these strategies. Just be warned, you can lose gold.
There are three (3) ways to look at this depending on your time available:
- Method 1: Short on available time (5-10 mins a day)
- Method 2: A little bit of time available (15-30 mins a day)
- Method 3: Heaps of time available (1-2 hours or more a day)
Method 1: Short on available time (5-10 mins a day):
While this is a bad method to make gold in the long term, if you have very little time available to you each day, this is your best option.
Do your daily each and every day. Use your Dalaran Jewelcrafters Token to buy Dragon's Eyes and sell them. On most servers that'll make you 100-130g a day.
The reason this is a bad method is you're not building up your patterns, which is where you'll get a lot of easy gold. If you don't have a lot of spare time, selling off the tokens is going to be your best option to getting gold for your efforts each day.
You'll also have to find a supplier for uncommon gems needed to complete the daily.
The up side, is that you require no preparation time to make this happen.
A piece of Advice: Build up a buffer:
The thing about gold making is to buy low and sell high.
To take advantage of opportunities when situations arrive, it's important to have a buffer of gold that you can use to invest.
All I'm saying is: Don't spend all your gold just because you have it available. Don't stop making gold until you've got more than you'll need for a long time.
Looking towards the future:
It's something to consider to not use this method to make gold. Forgo the that you'll get by selling the Dragon's Eye and use the Dalaran Jewelcrafters tokens for patterns.
