This is the 3rd in a 4 part series on how to make gold with Jewelcrafting and Blacksmithing. In this one, we're going to talk about how to reel in the big bucks with Jewelcrafting, assuming you have a lot of time to do it in. These are the methods that I used to recently make well over 500k profit.
Method 3: Heaps of time available (1-2 hours or more a day):
Everyone seems to think that making gold is exciting. It's far from it. It's repetitious, tedious and boring. It's a lot of hard work. That hard work is rewarded with lots of gold.
Kicking it up to the next level involves something called the "Saronite Shuffle". For this to happen, you'll need access to an enchanter to disenchant.
How the "Saronite Shuffle" works:
When you prospect Saronite Ore, you'll get Rare gems, but you'll also get Uncommon gems. Bloodstone, Chalcedony, Huge Citrine, and Sun Crystal is what's used in the Saronite shuffle. Shadow Crystal and Dark Jade are not used in this.
You'll need to buy Eternal Earth (most servers have these selling for about 8g, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less). Break these down into Crystalized Earth and make rings and neck pieces. These items are called Bloodstone Band, Crystal Chalcedony Amulet, Crystal Citrine Necklace and Sun Rock Ring.
You then need to get these disenchanted. If you have an alt that has high level enchanting, mail them over. Otherwise, you need to sweet talk some enchanter into disenchanting these for you. Just be warned, it'll be a lot and they'll probably never talk to you again ;)

/use Bloodstone Band
That is the Saronite Shuffle. You'll end up with a lot of Greater Cosmic Essence, Infinite Dust and Dream Shards.
Finding Suppliers:
This is going to be the hardest thing of all. The easiest option is to purchase from the Auction House when the price is low.
The best option is to talk with farmers and get them to COD you every piece of Saronite Ore they farm up.
You'll often find level 1 toons advertising on trade chat while standing in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. These are the people who you want to ask. Not all of them will COD. Most will demand face to face trading. While you are going to have to do this to start with, once they work out that you are serious, you may be able to come to an arrangement.
So what do you do with Shadow Crystal and Dark Jade?
The Dark Jade is used to make meta gems, but outside that, they have very little use. The Shadow Crystal has virtually no use. Vendoring is the right thing to do.
When vendoring these, just make sure you cut them first. Uncut uncommon gems vendor for 25s each, where the cut gems vendor for 50s each.
Epic Gems:
Selling epic gems is quite easy and simple. Don't prospect titanium ore, it's usually a bad deal.
The best way to make gold from epic gems is to buy the uncut gems and cut and sell. Just cut the ones that will sell for a decent profit. I tend to aim for profits of 40g or more.
The problem with this is mainly on the supply side.
Your main source of gems is going to be from alchemists. Sometimes you'll also get gems from people converting their honor points and badges into gems.
Cutting gems for Tips:
This is also an option for you. I'd suggest to do it for a fee,a s opposed for a tip. The price I'd suggest is 20g per cut.
Setting up shop in Dalaran is your best place.
Looking for Alchemists on trade chat:
It's not something that's very common, since alchemists don't often sell their transmute, but some do.
Advertising on trade chat looking to buy transmutes is the best way to go. It'll help to find out the going rate on your server, but 20-30g is often the price that they sell for.
Keeping in contact with those alchemists is worthwhile.
Epic Rings and Neckpieces:
There is a market for epic Rings and Neckpieces. Just be a little careful in this market. While you can easily make 1-2k a day profit from these, the market tends to be volatile.
Currently, the main customers are people buying these for alts. Rings tend to be better deals than for neck pieces.
Selling these on the Auction House is your best bet.

That says it all. For this to work best, get your hands on as many patterns as possible. Keep on saving them up.
