This is the last of the 4 part series where we teach you how to make gold with Jewelcrafting and Blacksmithing. In this one, we're going to concentrate on Blacksmithing.
Blacksmithing:
Blacksmithing is more of an after thought. You will be able to make more than enough gold from Jewelcrafting, often you're not going to bother with Blacksmithing as a gold source.
There are three main ways to make gold with blacksmithing.
- Enchanting rods
- Eternal Belt Buckles
- Craftable epics
Enchanting Rods:
- Titanium Rod
- Adamantite Rod
- Fel Iron Rod
- Arcanite Rod
These should be the main focus. The earlier rods often sell for less than the mats are worth, and definitely less than your time is worth.
This will be where you'll make your easy gold in blacksmithing, so long as there isn't a lot of competition.
Eternal Belt Buckles:
Many blacksmiths made a fortune on these items early on in the expansion. They were able to buy the mats for 25-40g and often sell them for 80g each... Not only that, they'd be selling them hand over fist.
They're worthwhile looking at, but this late into an expansion, you'll often find that consumables like this become unprofitable.
If you can make gold with these on your server, sell them.
Craftable Epics:
The trainer based epics sometimes makes some gold early on in the expansion, but later on, this is often not the case.
Where you'll make gold with craftable epics is with the top end patterns that drop from high end raids. The newer the better. Your gold will come from the crafting fee you charge to make thees items. The crafting fee can sometimes be as high as a few hundred. If you get a lucky drop early in a patch, you can sometimes charge a lot.
It's rare that you'll get to sell these profitably on the auction house.
Mods?
Yes there are mods. Lots of them. Some of them really help you do things faster and more efficiently.
